We will collect your following personal data for the purpose of meeting our legal obligation to record the details of anyone present on our premises in order to thereby facilitate the implementation of the official infection protection measure regulations, particularly the tracing of anyone who has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus:

  1. First name and surname
  2. Telephone number
  3. Full address
  4. Email address (assuming you have one)
  5. Date and time of presence on the premises
  6. Seat or table number (if applicable)


The legal basis for the collection of this data is Art. 6(1)(c) of the GDPR  in conjunction with § 5 of the Second SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Measures Ordinance passed by the Berlin Senate.

Your data will be collected only for the purpose of meeting this legal obligation and will not be processed for other purposes such as advertising, for example. Your data will be shared with the respectively responsible government authorities only in the instances defined in § 5(2)(3,4) of the Second SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Measures Ordinance passed by the Berlin Senate.


<h2>Internal recipients with access to your data:</h2>
  1. The Central and Regional Library Berlin staff who deal with the booking and management of appointments.
  2. The Central and Regional Library Berlin staff who work in the occupational health and safety management department in response to enquiries from the local health authority
  3. Staff who work for the City Schutz security service when they check your ticket(s). (Limited access)
  4. The data is processed by rami:io GmbH, Markgräfler Str. 16, 69126 Heidelberg, Germany


in the form of the booking system Pretix


All of the personal details collected for contact tracing purposes within the scope of the booking process in order to comply with § 5(2)(1) of the Second SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Measures Ordinance passed by the Berlin Senate will be stored in the system for 30 days before they are automatically deleted, regardless of whether you were or were not on the premises at the time and on the date of your appointment.


As per § 5(3) of the Second SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Measures Ordinance passed by the Berlin Senate, you are legally obliged to provide the above mentioned personal details in full and truthfully. If you do not provide your contact details or if you provide incomplete or obviously false details, we have the right, as per § 5(3) of the Second SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Measures Ordinance passed by the Berlin Senate, to deny you access.

As the data subject, you have rights under the GDPR; in particular, you can ask us to provide information with regard to the nature of the personal data we have collected, and you can also ask us to correct or delete this data or to restrict its processing. You can also file a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example Berlin's Data Protection and Freedom of Information Commissioner
